The Dodson Creek Cemetery Committee met tonight to plan for a memorial service to honor the men who enlisted in the Confederate Army, Company "D" 31st Tennessee Infantry Regiment (later called 39th Tennessee Mounted Infantry).
This blog site will serve to update people of the event scheduled for Sunday, May 27, 2007 at 2 pm. at Dodson Creek Cemetery in the Strahl community of Hawkins County, Tennessee. This community is near Rogersville, TN.
It is our hope that descendants of those men whose military history was chronicled in Donahue Bible's book, "From Persia to Piedmont" will attend this service.
Please feel free to comment on any of the posts.
The committee consists of Wayne Ward, Eddie Ward, Janice Morgan, Everette Burchette, Gaynelle Ball. Janice's Mother, & Marie Merritt.
